Video: Mondrian Variations

On June 16 the video "Mondrian Variations" by Jaroslaw Kapuscinski visiting lecturer in the Theory Department was presented at a screening organized in association with the International Media Arts Biennale WRO 07. In its 12th edition the festival is currently the most important international event of media arts in Poland.

The WRO Biennale enables its participants to see the development directions and changes in contemporary art created by means of contemporary communication tools. Great variety of forms are presented: video, installations, computer art, performance art, interactive art, internet art... Biennale's competition, which combines all of these forms aims at grasping the achievements that co-create the field. The competition draws on over 1000 works each time. The most interesting are selected to be presented during the Biennale and are judged by an international panel of renowned media artists and curators. Many works are presented by invited curators as well. The work of Dr. Kapuscinski, Mondrian Variations (1992) was presented as part of a program showing the highlights of Polish media arts from 1990-2000. It was curated by Piotr Krajewski, director of the Biennale.
