Gladys L. Benerd School of Education

There was a time in American education when we would ask young people if they were going to go to work or, alternatively, go to college.
Today, however, any job requires continuing education to learn changing technology or work processes, and all families and partners hope that, after college, their graduates will go to work!
Throughout our lives, each of us will cycle through many educational AND work experiences.
Because postsecondary education is so important to the life-chances of ALL Americans, it is appropriate that the Educational Administration and Leadership Department at the University of the Pacific’s Benerd School of Education has decided to offer a doctoral emphasis in Higher Education Leadership.
It’s an important move for Pacific at an important time for higher education.
I am pleased to help create this new emphasis, and I welcome your comments and questions about this new endeavor.
