School of International Studies
Careers
SIS students can choose from a variety of careers and graduate schools. Our alumni are working for the U.S. government (State Department, USAID, Treasury, CIA, NSA) major international corporations such as Google, VISA, MAERSK, and in the non-profit sector working for organizations like Amnesty International, Habitat for Humanity, and OXFAM. About a quarter of our alums work overseas-for many corporations and international organizations.
In their senior year, SIS students take a non-credit class with the Dean and Director of the Global Center. They receive a notebook with important information about applying to graduate school and writing a resume. They are paired with a member of the SIS Advisory Board (15 senior professionals from around the world), participate in the SIS e-mentoring program with alums, and are invited to hear
important speakers who discuss international careers and graduate school each week during the fall semester.
Many of our students go on to graduate school. Members of the 2007 class are studying at the Monterey Institute of International Studies (where we have an agreement that students accepted into the IPS program get a semester off their graduate study), the London School of Economics and at Yale University.
SIS prepares you for your next stage in life.
