Civil Engineering
Accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET), the University of the Pacific is home to one of the top civil engineering programs in the U.S.
To fulfill the Civil Engineering Program objectives, students take courses in the following areas:
- Construction
- Environmental
- Structural
- Water Resources Engineering
Students define their program of study in consultation with their faculty advisor. All engineering students complete a Senior Design Project, where they apply Civil Engineering design methods towards solution of a real world problem.
Students are active in ASCE and other engineering societies. Participation in these societies provides students with opportunities to meet other students, learn about Civil Engineering jobs and career options and professional licensure. Students can develop their leadership skills by accepting positions as Officers and can participate in hands-on design competitions.
Pacific’s Co-op Program offers paid internships with major firms such as:

- San Joaquin County Public Works
- CH2M Hill
