Professional Clear Administrative Services Credential
About the Credential
The Professional Clear Administrative Services Credential is an advanced preparation program extending the knowledge and skills of those completing the preliminary program.
The advanced program provides for intensive professional development and induction of the new administrator.
The required competencies are demonstrated through four selected seminars and preplanned professional options selected in collaboration with the candidate, district representative and university advisor. The credential requirements must be completed within the first five years of service as an administrator.
Credential Requirements and Procedures
The completion of an equivalent of 16 semester units in the second level program, and the fulfillment of two years of successful administrative service are required. Essential features of the 16 unit program are as follows:
- Induction Plan: EADM 360, Professional Induction Planning, 2 units
- 12 Semester Units in Advanced Coursework from the following lists:
- Administrative Core (Candidate will take a minimum of two of these courses):
- EADM 360, Seminar: Trends and Issues and the Dynamics of Change, 3 units
- EADM 362, Seminar: Administration of Instructional Programs, 3 units
- EADM 367, Seminar: Cultural Diversity in Educational Administration, 3 units
- EADM 368, Seminar: Administering Complex Educational Organizations, 3 units
- Elective Administration Courses (0-6 units)
- EADM 361, Seminar: Ethics, Law, and Finance, 3 units
- EADM 363, Seminar: Personnel Issues, 3 u nits
- EADM 364, Seminar: Educational Policymaking and Politics, 3 units
- EADM 366, Seminar: Communication and Public Relations in Education, 3 units
- EADM 369, Seminar: District Office Administration, 3 units
- Administrative Core (Candidate will take a minimum of two of these courses):
- Assessment of Induction Plan Completion (EADM 371, Professional Assessment, 2 units)
Total Academic Units: 16
Culminating Experience
Submission of a professional portfolio and an exit interview with the credential coordinator, a university representative, and a school district representative.
