M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction
About the Degree

The M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction is suited for undergraduates who continue at the University of the Pacific after the bachelor’s degree in order to complete a preliminary credential, and for new graduate students who are beginning a teaching credential program.
The program includes completion of a Preliminary Multiple Subject, Single Subject, or Level One Education Specialist Credential.
Degree Requirements
(Minimum 38 units):
- Completion of the Preliminary Credential Courses taken after completion of a bachelor's degree, Directed Teaching, the Directed Teaching Seminar, and approval of all requirements for the preliminary Multiple Subject (MS), Single Subject (SS), or Education Specialist Level I Credential.
- Approval of Competencies and Assessment Requirements (one can student teach or secure an approved internship with a public school district in the Stockton area)
- Completion of EPSY 201, Techniques of Research, 3 units
- Completion of a minimum of 9 units in a graduate concentration in Curriculum and Instruction, Special Education, or Curriculum and Educational Administration
- Completion of an oral examination
Admission Information
Applicants must submit all materials as a completed application to the
Research and Graduate Studies Office at the University of the Pacific.
Admission to this program is a holistic decision, and is based on the following:
- 3.0 grade point average (GPA) on the last 60 units of undergraduate study (on a 4.0 scale)
- The Graduate School application form
- An essay about your goals and reasons for applying for the program
- Three (3) letters of recommendation
- Official transcript(s)
