Announcement:
Applications are being accepted for Faculty E-Portfolio Fellows of $7500-$15,000
The General Education and E-Portfolio Committees announce the implementation of an E-Portfolio Program to educate and support faculty members on the value of the e-portfolio as a teaching and learning tool by establishing a Faculty E-Portfolio Fellowship.
The one-year appointment may begin as early as July 1 and will provide a $7500 stipend each for two Faculty Fellows or possibly $15,000 for one Faculty Fellow. The pilot E-Portfolio program initiative will be administered through the GE program in collaboration with the Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) and include the following responsibilities:
Promoting the value of e-portfolio through one-on-one and group tutorials
Identifying faculty to use the e-portfolio, particularly in GE courses
Creating best teaching practices with the e-portfolio
Collaborating with the Director of GE and the CTL Director on how to improve the implementation of the e-portfolio
Becoming conversant with e-portfolio literature and developments
Collaborating with the Assessment Office and the CTL in developing assessment tools.
To apply for an E-Portfolio Fellow, a tenure-track faculty member must submit a letter of interest and address (1) their current level of knowledge using e-portfolio in teaching and learning, (2) perspective on the value of the e-portfolio as a teaching and learning tool, and (3) a brief plan on how they will approach the fellow job responsibilities. If possible, a plan for measuring the outcomes of the Fellowship is welcomed. Applications are due by May 1, 2008.
