Student & Faculty Recital Scheduling
Guidelines
Before making a recital request, verify the availability of all participants and guests and consider other events that might constitute a conflict.
Dates & Times
- You may schedule a recital Tuesday through Friday at 7:30 p.m. or on Saturdays and Sundays at 2:30 p.m., 5:00 p.m. or 7:30 p.m.
- The Conservatory does not schedule recitals before the first and after the last day of classes or on holidays and holiday weekends.
- All dates and times are subject to the approval of the Conservatory Operations Manager.
- To check for date availability, see the
Conservatory events calendar
Facilities
All student recitals are scheduled in the Recital Hall. The Faye Spanos Concert Hall is only used under certain circumstances. Performers are permitted to enter the hall one hour before the recital begins.
Confirmation
The recital date is verified through the Conservatory Operations Manager. Further instructions will be given at that time regarding program preparation and other special needs.
Student Reservations
At the beginning of the Fall semester, students will be allowed to reserve one (1) date for Spring recitals. Seniors may make requests during the second week of September, juniors during the third week, and non-degree recitals during the fourth week. Any student may make a request beginning October 1.
At the end of the Spring semester, students will be allowed to reserve one (1) date for Fall recitals. Seniors may make requests during the second week of April, juniors during the third week, and non-degree recitals during the fourth week. Any student may make a request beginning May 1.
Student Fee
A non-refundable fee of $25 is required for all student recital reservations. This helps defray the cost of producing the recital, including programs, staffing, recording, and piano tuning. The Conservatory does not furnish page turners. The student recital date is not confirmed until after the fee is paid. If the approved date is changed by the student for any reason other than a documented emergency, the $25 fee will be forfeited. In such a case, a new fee will be required to schedule another date.
Student Recital Hearing
The Student Recital Hearing must be passed at least four (4) weeks in advance of the scheduled recital, otherwise, the date & fee will be forfeited. Consult your applied instructor for more information regarding the Student Recital Hearing.
