Conservatory of Music
B.A. Music

The Bachelor of Arts degree in Music is designed to emphasize the study of music within a liberal arts curriculum. In a Bachelor of Arts degree approximately 40% of the courses are taken in music with the rest divided amongst the liberal arts. The core Conservatory curriculum serves as a basis for the Bachelor of Arts degree. B.A. students take the same series of courses in Music Theory, Music History, and Performance as Bachelor of Music students but with some reductions in the amount of performance activity required. While not a highly specialized music study, the Bachelor of Arts degree provides a breadth of study that serves as an excellent preparation for graduate study in some areas of music.
