Frequently Asked Questions

Law classroom

Q: Can I still apply for the 3+3 Legal Scholars Program if I am a transfer student with sophomore or junior standing?

A: No, because students completing the 3+3 accelerated program must complete a total of 92 undergraduate units, 75 of which must be completed on the Stockton campus. Since the normal course load at Pacific is 15 units per semester, students must be on the Stockton campus for five of their six undergraduate semesters before attending Pacific McGeorge School of Law during their senior year of college. However, first and second semester sophomores and first semester juniors can still sign up for the 4+3 Legal Scholars Program. It has the same curriculum advantages and components as the 3+3 program with the only exception that students must complete their undergraduate degree before attending Pacific McGeorge.

Q: Can I still apply for the 4+3 Legal Scholars Program if I am a transfer student with second semester junior standing?

A: No, because students completing the 4+3 Legal Scholars Program must complete a total of 124 undergraduate units, 60 of which must be completed on the Stockton campus. Since the normal course load at Pacific is 15 units per semester, students must complete four semesters of undergraduate coursework on the Stockton campus.

Q: What happens to the various AP units that I bring to Pacific from my High School?

A: Although AP units that students bring to Pacific may fulfill some GE, major, and graduation requirements, they cannot be counted toward the 75 units (for the 3+3 program) or 60 units (for the 4+3 program) that must be completed on the Stockton campus before attending Pacific McGeorge.

Q: What happens to my Regents Scholarship during the fourth year when I am attending Pacific McGeorge if I am in the 3+3 accelerated program?

A: Although students will lose their Regents Scholarship on the Stockton campus, the law school will provide students in the 3+3 accelerated program with a one-year scholarship during their first year at Pacific McGeorge.
