The PowerCat
The University of the Pacific tiger mascot has been a symbol of the school's athletic teams for over 80 years.
The tiger emblem has changed from a drawing of a ferocious, roaring tiger in its earliest beginnings to the the friendlier "Tommy Tiger" caricature today.
On January 22, 1999 the Pacific Intercollegiate athletiecs unveilved its new and current mascot, "Powercat".
"Powercat" followed the introduction of the Pacific Tigers' new logo and is a dynamic and athletic personality that adds to the excitement of Pacific intercollegiate athletic events.
