Eberhardt School of Business

MBA Specialized Tracks

The Eberhardt MBA offers four specialized tracks in either management, marketing, entreprenuership and innovation or finance. In 2010 we are offering a concentration in healthcare management.

NEW - Healthcare Management
The Eberhardt School of Business MBA concentration in health care management will provide general management training with a focus on the dynamic and growing health sector. It equips students with a familiarity with institutions of the health sector. It offers a more thorough management background than found in many masters in health administration (MHA) programs and more health specific education than the generic MBA. It is a well-accepted qualification for advancement to many of the most responsible positions in hospitals, clinics, health insurance, long term care, pharmaceuticals, medical technology, consulting, professional associations, and government service. Students take all required MBA courses and also select four courses focused on, or closely related, to the health sector. These include Health Insurance, International Health Care Systems, Health Economics, and Marketing of Services. In the near future, we expect to make available Health Services Management, Marketing of Professional Services, Health Care Law, and Health Information Systems. In addition the required internship is expected to be based in a health related setting.

Entrepreneurship and Innovation
With the specialized track in entrepreneurship and innovation, you will learn how to recognize and capitalize on opportunities in today’s dynamic global marketplace. Thriving in ever-changing and fast-growing markets is key to a successful entrepreneur, whether in large companies or small businesses.

Finance
You will be able to seek a career in investments, portfolio management, and corporate finance with the specialized track in finance. The coursework includes portfolio management, venture capital, corporate treasury management, and international financial management.

Management
The specialized track in management leads to opportunities in almost every industry. From this path, you can pursue a career in human resources management, strategy consulting, organizational planning and management.

Marketing

You will be able to practice marketing in high technology companies, consumer durable and nondurable industries, supply chain organizations, and services.
