Personal Statement

A space is provided on the online application. You do not need to submit your statement separately if you are submitting the application online.

For Domestic and International Applicants

Our Distinctive Candidate Application does not require you to submit an essay. In its place, however, we do ask you to submit a brief personal statement (250 to 500 words) - as a way to get to know you as a person and more than a collection of classes and test scores. Relax - there are no wrong answers. But we do ask you to consider grammar, spelling and the content of what you wish to express.

The topic is up to you, but if you need some help getting started, here is an idea:

"Describe a negative interaction you have had with another person. What happened? How did you react? How did you respond to the other person?"

For International Applicants
If your native language is not English, you may seek assistance in writing the statement.
