College of the Pacific
Caroline Cox
In my classes, I try to engage students as much as possible in exploring the records of the past, examining primary documents, letters, newspapers, and diaries.
No matter how large the class, we try to spend time as much time as possible discussing the readings and other course materials.
Readings, discussion, lecture, movies, music, and art are all tools to help students gain a significant body of historical knowledge and develop their analytical skills.
In my classes, we work on gaining historical knowledge while developing student skills as researchers, thinkers, and writers.
