College of the Pacific

Janet Koprivnikar

Dr. Koprivnikar is interested in parasites of aquatic organisms, particularly ecological and environmental aspects.

Areas of focus include environmental factors that can influence patterns of parasite infection in hosts, such as landscape and contaminants.

Effects mediated through hosts and parasites, as well as their interactions, are under investigation.

How disease and the environment combine to impact hosts is also of concern.

Additionally, she is interested in the role of parasites in ecosystems, as they have the potential to mediate many interactions, such as predation and competition.

Parasite-induced alterations of host behavior and its consequences, as well as host anti-parasite behavior, are also areas of study.

Dr. Koprivnikar primarily works with amphibians but also has interests in fish and invertebrates.

Dr. Koprivnikar teaches:  General Biology and Ecology.
