College of the Pacific

C. Gregory Anderson

C. Gregory Anderson, 2002, Assistant Professor, B.A., University of Missouri, Columbia, 1990; Ph.D., University of Tennessee, Knoxville, 2001.

Dr. Anderson’s current research interests involve riparian habitat restoration and the biology of river otters.

Undergraduate research projects include Habitat Restoration on the Calaveras River, a parasitological investigation into the possible link between sea otter deaths on the California coast, river otters, and domestic cats, and otter dietary studies at Grizzly Island Wildlife Area.

He received his Bachelors in Biology from the University of Missouri, Columbia and after a brief 2 year stint at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington D.C., he received his Ph.D. in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville (GO VOLS!), a mere 80 miles from the site of the famous Scopes “Monkey Trial.”

He married his High School sweetheart (Karen) and they have two beautiful daughters (Shannon and Carly).

In his rare spare time he enjoys being with his family, hiking, camping, skiing, and travel.

He is still a nature freak at heart and always try to find an excuse to get out in the woods (for either research or fun).

Dr. Anderson teaches:  Environmental Concepts, Human Anatomy, and Anatomy & Physiology, Comparative Vertebrate Biology, Ecology, and Systematics.
