Engineering Educational Value
YES, YOU CAN AFFORD IT...
In fact, you may actually EARN money by studying engineering at Pacific for 4 years and starting work 1.5 years earlier than most other engineering program graduates.
Here's an example:
Estimate of what You Will Pay:
Tuition & Fees at Pacific = $29,000 (estimate 08/09)
- Average Financial Aid Package at Pacific = $10,000 (estimate 08/09)
Total Annual Tuition (estimate 08/09) = $19,000
Total Tuition Estimate for 4 years = $76,000 = What you PAY
Estimate of what You Will Earn:
Paid-Internship Earnings for 7.5 Months = $21,600
+ Salary for 1.5 years After Graduation = $90,000
Total Earnings (estimate) = $111,600 = What you EARN
Note: Engineering majors have a choice of graduating in four years with 7.5 months of paid-internship or in five years with a full year (12 months of paid-internship). Paid-internships are optional for computer science and international students.
With the paid-internship or "co-op" experience and this head start, you will continue to earn on average $4,000 more per year than students taking 5.5 years to graduate.
Other Measures of Educational Value Include:
- Quality of Education
- Availability of Scholarships and Financial Aid
- Opportunities to Spend Extended Quality Time with Professors
- Work Opportunities Leading to Job Offers The College Experience – New Friendships, Activities, and Opportunities to Explore and Enjoy the Surrounding Area
