





Brubeck Fellowship Scholarship Details
The Brubeck Fellowship Program is a one or two-year full-scholarship program in jazz performance. The scholarship provided by the Brubeck Institute pays the following things:
- All tuition and other costs of instruction, including required textbooks
- Room and Board. For meals, a Brubeck Fellow recieves a card with an amount of money on it each semester. The amount is sufficient to purchase meals throughout each semester. If the amount allocated is exceeded, no supplemental allocations will be made.
- Air travel to and from home at the beginning and end of the academic year, and at winter break are paid.
- Expenses while traveling on behalf of the Institute during the year are paid, including travel fares, food, and lodging. In the case of trips to events such as the Monterey Jazz Festival, the Institute also pays entry fees and ticket costs.
The following things are not paid for or furnished by the Brubeck Institute:
- Any personal items such as bed, linens, towels, toiletries, clothing, etc.
- Books, sheet music, recordings
- Personal musical instruments
- Personal electronics, computers, cameras, iPods, cell phones, etc.
- Library fines, lost keys and card fines, any dorm room damage charges
- Personal travel and personal entertainment such as movies or magazine subscriptions
- Personal spending money
Brubeck Fellows should plan to bring their own personal items and have sufficient personal funds to cover these and other types of expenses while you are in the Fellowship Program.
