How to Apply for Financial Aid as a Pharmacy Student

  1. Apply for admission
To receive priority consideration for available financial aid funds, complete your admission file by November 3rd, 2008.

  2. Get your PIN. http://www.pin.ed.gov
If you have Internet access, plan to file your FAFSA online and e-sign it with a Federal Student Aid PIN. Students (and parents) may request PINs now.

  3. File the FAFSA. www.fafsa.ed.gov
    Priority Date: February 15, 2009
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid is the basic application document for federal, state, and University aid.

If necessary, use estimated 2008 information to complete your FAFSA then check your figures after tax returns are filed and submit any necessary corrections.

To have your FAFSA information sent to Pacific, enter school code 001329.

FAFSA on the Web Worksheets are available at colleges and high schools throughout the U.S. and at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov. If yo uprefer a paper FAFSAyou may requestone by calling  the Federal  Student Aid Information Center at 1-800-433-3243.

If you file your FAFSA over the Internet and you (or your parents) don’t have a PIN, be sure to print, sign, and mail the signature page. All online filers should print the confirmation page. If you file a paper FAFSA, keep a copy of the completed form. Get a Certificate of Mailing at the post office whenever you mail important documents.

You must be admitted before we will send you a financial aid award letter, but don’t wait until you have been admitted to file the FAFSA! Pacific awards financial aid to students who apply after the priority date, but later awards may be less favorable. The first day to file a 2009-2010 FAFSA is January 1, 2009.

  4. 2008 Tax Return
As soon as possible, send a complete, signed copy of your 2008 U.S. income tax return (or Telefile form with the confirmation code, or Online Filing documents) to the Financial Aid Office. If you provide parent information on your FAFSA, also send a copy of your parents’ tax return.

If a tax return will not be filed, we will provide a Non-Filer’s Statement for you to fill out. Pacific may be able to award financial aid on the basis of your FAFSA alone, but no funds can be paid until we have received and reviewed your income documentation.
