The average entering GPA for the past several years has been 3.4. It is recommended that applicants have a GPA of at least 3.0 to be considered competitive. However, higher grades are not a guarantee of admission and lower grades do not necessarily mean rejection. Some applicants with a 4.0 GPA may not be admitted, while students who have more modest grades may be admitted. Pacific considers many factors when making admissions decisions including: course loads, strength of curriculum, grade trends, pharmacy or other health care related experience, extracurricular involvement, demonstrated leadership abilities, and written and oral communication skills. We also expect very strong detailed letters of recommendation. Pacific accepts applicants with majors in a variety of disciplines; however, students must have the necessary prerequisite courses prior to matriculation. In recent years, Pacific has received over 2000 applications per year. We invite approximately 300 students to interview for an entering class of approximately 100.
The Office of Admission recommends applying early in the review cycle, preferably in the summer or early fall. We require both the PharmCAS and the Pacific Supplemental application. These should be filled out and submitted concurrently. Please note that PharmCAS requires an accurate reflection of your academic history entered on their form. You will need an official transcript from each school attended in order to accurately complete the PharmCAS application. All courses, whether they are listed with grades, withdrawals, incompletes, or audits must be listed on the application. PharmCAS will request detailed information (such as dates and time spent) about your work experience, pharmacy experience, extracurricular involvement, community service, organizations, honors, and awards.
