Amanda Smith, B.S. EMGT 2008
"The engineering management program at Pacific really gave me the freedom to explore engineering and the many unique ways I could use a technical background. During my undergraduate studies at Pacific, I fell in love with the transportation field. Being from the Los Angeles area, I've experienced, firsthand, the impact traffic has on the quality of life and decided I would really like to be part of the solution. So I decided to continue my education for a master's degree in transportation engineering at the University of Southern California. I'm interested in the transportation planning and finance aspect of the subject and Pacific's engineering management program has provided the tools and framework to excel in those areas. I definitely feel prepared for graduate coursework."
Ryan Liu, B.S. EMGT 2007/B.S. EE 2007
"I work for Accenture Technology Consulting based out of San Francisco in the Security Practice with a speciality in Security Risk Management. I've had the opportunity to work with a range of clients from Microsoft in Redmond, WA to Cargill in Minneapolis, MN working on projects from data governance strategy to business process risk analysis. I can't imagine a better career choice than consulting and have Pacific to thank for that. The engineering management/electrical engineering programs prepared me for the challenge of learning skill sets where the boundaries of business acumen and technical knowledge blur and become one."
Kristel Ajifu, B.S. EMGT 2007
"Attending Pacific helped define who I am and my career choice. I work as a Construction Engineer at Hawaiian Dredging Construction Company working on a road widening project in Hawaii. Currently, I am responsible for the project's budget. I work directly with the Project Engineer, Superintendent, and Project Manager to complete our project on time and within budget. Pacific's Engineering Managment program prepared me with a solid foundation in the classroom and also equipped me to transition into the work force with ease and confidence."
Xuan Xen - B.S. EMGT 2008
"Pacific was a small and friendly place for me as a student. I liked the fact that I was able to focus on my school work and that the professors were always available to help me. I gained so much work experience and perspective from my two coop terms working first at National Semiconductor and then at Elo Touchsystems where I received a job offer after graduation. Working at Elo as a development engineer, I qualify new products, generate new designs and build prototypes. I have also been given the opportunity to travel here in the states and abroad to Japan and China for business.
Michael Bockrath - B.S. EMGT 2004
"My undergraduate education at Pacific definitely prepared me for the 'real world' and also gave me the confidence to continue with my education to further enhance my career. I am an Account Executive for Pacific Gas and Electric Company and am also studying to receive my MBA. I work in the customer care organization of PG&E and am responsible for managing customer relationships for large and high profile businesses in San Francisco and San Mateo County. One of the main objectives of my job is be a trusted energy advisor for the customer which makes my job very rewarding."
