School of Engineering and Computer Science
Annual Senior Design & Research Day (Senior project day)
Each April industry volunteers come to campus to judge student design and research projects. These projects are a culmination of studies conducted by students throughout their senior year. In groups of two or four, students partner with a faculty member and an industry sponsor to design, manufacture, and execute an engineering or computer
science research project. Students are judged on the quality of their design and research display, oral presentation, and overall project.
In addition to the serious nature of this type of research, the Day is also an opportunity to celebrate the efforts of our seniors and for seniors to share their work with classmates, friends, family, and visiting high school students interested in engineering and computer science. Pictured to the right is three judges deliberating, meanwhile students and guests enjoy a BBQ and await the results (photo below).
