Technology Training

Purpose

  • Provides an environment for technology training that serves the greater San Joaquin County region and University of the Pacific students
  • Technology Training for San Joaquin County employees
  • Continuing and Professional Education extension courses for the community
  • Certification Training Courses
  • Specialty courses in technology areas such as e-commerce and network security for the IT professional
     

Courses Supported

  • Laboratory support for Computer Science and Computer Information System courses
     

Major Equipment

  • 25 Workstations currently running Windows XP
  • Server and Printer
  • Smart Instructor Podium with DVD, VHS, sound system and server
  • Ceiling mounted computer projection
  • Large White Board
  • Software includes Microsoft Office, compilers (Visual Studio.NET, C++ Builder, Java compilers, UML design software, and more)
     

The Technology Training Center is a classroom with computers at all student seats, as well as at the instructor's podium. The room is equipped to allow any computer to be connected to the overhead project systems, enabling discussion and sharing of projects as they are developed.

Most introductory computer science courses are taught in the TTC (others are taught in similar facilities). This allows students to immediately explore ideas as they are presented by the instuctor. A number of upper division computer science courses also use this room.
