Jeffrey Michael
Jeffrey Michael was named the new director for the Business Forecasting Center at the Eberhardt School of Business.
Jeffrey Michael, director for the Center of Applied Business and Economic Research at Towson University in Maryland, will start his new position in Stockton in March.

“We are pleased that Jeffrey Michael joined us as the new director of the Business Forecasting Center in the Eberhardt School of Business,” said Dean Chuck Williams. “Jeff’s experience as an economics professor and leader of one of the most well-respected business forecasting centers on the East Coast will strengthen the services and products offered by our forecasting center.”

As director, Michael will produce quarterly forecasts for 11 metropolitan areas, California and the nation. He also will spearhead consulting services to businesses and government agencies, oversee surveys and economic studies and encourage local business leaders to cooperate on regional economic issues.

“I am excited to join the dedicated faculty and staff in the Eberhardt School, which is nationally recognized as an outstanding College of Business,” Michael said. “The Business Forecasting Center has an excellent track record, and I look forward to expanding the scope of our services and outreach to the regional business and government communities while continuing the successful forecasting project."

The Business Forecasting Center was recognized for issuing the “Most Accurate Forecast in 2006” by the Western Blue Chip Economic Forecast by the JP Morgan Chase Economic Outlook Center.  It was founded in 2004 and is housed on Pacific’s Stockton campus. The Eberhardt School of Business is one of a handful of business schools producing comprehensive quarterly forecasts of the U.S. economy. In addition, the quarterly metropolitan forecasts cover several regions in California's Central Valley not covered by other forecasts.
