Phi Alpha Theta

Our chapter of Phi Alpha Theta, the national History Honor Society, was established in May 2007. Phi Alpha Theta was established in 1921 and is a charter member of the Association of College Honor Societies. It has 839 active chapters and 275,000 members. Phi Alpha Theta publishes a peer-reviewed scholarly journal, The Historian, and convenes 35 regional meetings each year.

Charter members of our chapter, Alpha-Mu-Omega, include Johanna Bakmas ('09), Patrick Burdick ('07), Paul Fraidenburgh ('08), Frankie Griffen ('08), Glenn Hill ('07), Eric Holmes ('07), John Hurley ('07), Amy Langford ('09), Jonathan Hou-kang Lin ('07), Marath Pich ('09), William Reese ('07), Donnie Swanson ('09), Mark Weiner ('07), and Callyan Y ('07).

New initiates in 2008 include Anna Jean Accettola ('10), John H. Ahlers ('08), Fehmida Naz Ali ('08), Lloyd D. Barba ('09), Justen Betta ('10), Nidya G. Gonzalez ('08), Ariell Stuart Heacox ('10), Andrea Lake ('09).

Our initiation and graduation party will be on May 1, 2009. Graduating seniors will receive a crimson Phi Alpha Theta sash denoting their achievement to be worn over their robes. Parents and friends are encouraged to attend this event.
