Old UOP Seals and Logos
The University of the Pacific's identity program features "Pacific" as the official shortened name for the university.
In the past, the visual elements and especially the seal of the University of the Pacific have gone through a number of revisions.
Until the University chose the word "Pacific" as its primary brand, it was universally known as UOP, and in some minds, like those of many loyal alumni, the university is still UOP.
The abbreviation continues to be used by those alumni and some members of the public.
However, faculty, staff and students should now use "Pacific", and avoid referring to the university as UOP.
Here are a few of the images that have represented the University of the Pacific, or UOP, in the past.

Raymond College was established in 1962. It was the first of three liberal arts and sciences colleges. Raymond had no letter grades. By the 1980s, the idea had less relevance, attendance was decreasing, and in 1982 Raymond College was closed. | |
