Jeffrey Michael, Ph.D.

Director

Jeffrey A. Michael is Director of the Business Forecasting Center at the University of the Pacific Eberhardt School of Business.

Michael received his B.A. in Economics from Hamilton College of New York, his M.S. in Resource Economics and Policy from University of Maine, and his Ph.D. in Economics from North Carolina State University.

He spent almost nine years at Towson University in Maryland, where he was an award-winning member of the faculty, associate dean, and director of the Center of Applied Business and Economic Research.

Michael's areas of expertise include environmental and regional economics with a focus on the impacts of regulation and environmental change on land use and property markets. He also specializes in forecasting economy-wide impacts of public policies including current work on climate change. Michael has received numerous grants, and his research has been published in scholarly journals, which have received national press coverage in sources such as The Wall Street Journal, New York Times Magazine, Washington Post, and the online magazine, Slate.
