CPCE Course Types
Continuing Education Courses
Continuing Education Courses offer Continuing Education Units (CEU's) intended for use where employers, licensing agencies, or other professional associations require a specified number of study hours.One (1) CEU is awarded for each ten (10) hours of contact participation.
Self-Paced Courses
Self Paced courses are taught year round and are designed to give students freedom while they learn. Self Paced courses allow students to complete assignments on their own time in their own enviornments. CPCE offers Self paced courses on what to expect after college, trends in technology and computer applications.
Extension Courses
Extension Units offer undergraduate students academic credit towards undergraduate degree programs offered by the University of the Pacific. They may also be transferable to other colleges and universities; however, it is important to check with the specific college before taking these designated courses to make sure that they are acceptable as credit. Many counseling and healthcare professionals are required to obtain ongoing extended education units to maintain their certification or licensure. Extended Education Units (EXTN). All credits (15 hours = 1 unit) are full semester units unless otherwise noted, and will be listed on your University transcript. Extended Education Units may not be applied toward required unit count for financial aid. Please check with the Financial Aid Office for review.
Professional Development Courses
Courses designed to meet personal and professional needs.
Non-Credit Courses
Courses open to all members of the community and do not offer credit, academic or otherwise.
