Douglas Hunt

Lecturer in Euphonium and Tuba

Douglas Hunt, lecturer in euphonium and tuba, has been teaching at the Conservatory of Music since 1989.  He holds the B.M. and M.A. degrees from the University of the Pacific and also studied at California State University - Chico, and the University of Maryland. His major teachers include William Bell and Arnold Jacobs.  He has also taught at San Joaquin Delta College and at the Regional Conservatory of Music at the University of Chile.

Mr. Hunt has been tubist with the U.S. Naval Academy Band, principal tuba with the Annapolis Symphony, is currently principal tuba with the Stockton Symphony and is the founder and tubist with the Tower Brass Quintet in Stockton.  He is often featured as a soloist, clinician, and adjudicator with area performing groups and schools. He is a member of the Tubists Universal Brotherhood Association, the National Educators Association, the American Federation of Musicians - Local 189, and the Stockton Symphony Association Board of Directors.
