Mathew Krejci

Lecturer in Flute

Mathew Krejci, lecturer in flute, has been with the Conservatory of Music since 1988.  He holds the B.M.E. and the M.M. from Indiana University.  His major teachers include James Pellerite and Maurice Sharp (Cleveland Institute of Music). Prior to his association with Pacific, Mr. Krejci taught at the University of Evansville (Indiana) and Morehead State University in Kentucky.

Mr. Krejci is presently principal flute with the Sacramento Philharmonic Orchestra, the California Chamber Orchestra, the Chamber Music Society of Sacramento, Music Now, and was formerly with the Sacramento Symphony.  He has performed with the Spoleto Festival Orchestra, at the Slovaks Living Abroad Festival in the Slovak Republic, and as a soloist in Prague, Czech Republic.

In the Conservatory, Mr. Krejci teaches flute, coaches chamber music, teaches flute and clarinet techniques class, directs the flute choir, and performs with the Pacific Arts Woodwind Quintet.  He is a member of the National Flute Association and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia.  He recently released a recording on Klavier Records of the music of Claude Bolling.
