Faculty and student travel for research

FACULTY SCHOLARSHIP & RESEARCH

Bob Richards and SEE participants aboard the John Le ContePacific supports faculty and student scholarly research by providing funds for travel.  A recent example:

Building upon her water quality research conducted with Civil Engineering Professor Gary Litton, Bioengineering major Jocelyn Grey was selected as one of 17 participants from around the world by the Tahoe-Baikal Institute (TBI) to participate in the 2008 Summer Environmental Exchange (SEE).  This highly selective research opportunity allows students to spend five weeks in California, USA and five weeks in Siberia, Russia studying current watershed management issues.  To participate in the program, Jocelyn was required to raise half of the $10,000 USD program cost.

  • Funding Need: Faculty and students may petition support for travel expenses related to scholarly activities.

  • Application Procedure: Faculty and/or students should return a completed Pacific Fund Grant Application to their respective Department Chair/Program Director who will forward the application to the School of Engineering and Computer Science Dean’s Office.
