Jaroslaw Kapuscinski

Lecturer in Music Theory

Jaroslaw Kupuscinski is a lecturer in music theory and joined the faculty of the Conservatory of Music in Spring 2004. He holds the M.Mus. in piano performance and the M.Mus. in composition from the Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw, Poland, and the Ph.D. in composition from University of California-San Diego. He has studied piano with Bronislawa Kawalla and Szabolc Esztenyi, composition with Wlodzimierz Kotonski and Rand Steiger, computer media with Miller Puckette, computer animation with Vibeke Sorensen, and visual arts with Ernest Silva.

Dr. Kupuscinski has taught courses at UC-San Diego, The Funen Academy of Fine Arts in Odense, Nielsen Academy of Music in Odense, McGill University in Montreal, and the Royal Conservatory in the Hague. He has presented invited lectures throughout the United States and Europe, has received grants and commissions for the presentation of works in Poland, Canada, Denmark, and Japan, and has composed numerous works for both traditional and new musical mediums.

In the Conservatory of Music, Dr. Kapuscinski teaches courses in music theory.
