Pacific Fund Grant Applicants

MEMORANDUM
TO: Conservatory Students and Faculty

The Conservatory of Music Planning and Priorities Committee will award Pacific Fund Grants commencing in the fall of 2009. Please note that the total amount available is down over 20% from the 08-09 academic year. The fund amount is determined according to complex calculations and we anticipate that our increased enrollment will help next year’s total.
DEADLINES:
fall applications: September 30, 2009
spring applications: January 15, 2010
Awards will be made in the following categories:
Individual Undergraduate/Graduate Student Awards:
Approximately $4400 available with individual awards of up to $500 each for performance/research/creative projects and for travel that is related to the major(e.g., festivals, master classes, conferences, competitions). Awardees will be expected to submit a report following the conclusion of the funded activity.
Individual Faculty Awards:
Approximately $5600 available with individual awards from $500 to $1000 each to faculty in support of scholarly/performance/creative projects, professionally-related travel, and other professional development activities. Adjunct faculty are eligible to apply, however full-time faculty will be given priority. These are intended to be supplemental awards; applicants must demonstrate that they have first applied to the appropriate central university funding committee for support. Awardees will be expected to submit a report following the conclusion of the funded activity.
Touring Student Ensembles:
Approximately $5600 will be awarded in the fall for the entire academic year by the Dean in consultation with the appropriate ensemble director.
