





Pacific Athletes Earn All-MPSF Academic Honors
Four members of the Pacific women's water polo team earned Academic All-MPSF honors, it was announced Tuesday, May 27, by the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) Conference office. Earning the awards were seniors Kellie Fletcher (Roseville, Calif.) and Virginia McConnell (Ottawa, Ontario), and sophomores Jessica Safir (Los Gatos, Calif.) and Alex Kutac (Houston, Tex.).
The Pacific men's volleyball team received seven selections to the 2008 Academic All-MPSF team. The Tigers' seven selections were headlined by two graduating Blake Gentry (Ladera Ranch, Calif.) and Pekka Seppanen (Kuopio, Finland). Joining the two seniors on the team were junior Jeff Hendershot (Claremont, Calif.), redshirt sophomores Clay Ostrander (Wheaton, Ill.) and Kevin Pratte (Hemet, Calif.), sophomore Mark Bauhs (Danville, Calif.) and redshirt freshman Justin Burridge (Thousand Oaks, Calif.). The Tigers seven student-athletes on the team ranked No. 1 among all 12 MPSF schools. The next highest schools placed five student-athletes on the team.
To be eligible for this award, athletes must: have a 3.0 or better cumulative grade point average, must be at least a sophomore academically, have completed one full academic year at his institution prior to the season for which the award is being received, and have competed in fifty percent or more of the institution's competition in the student-athlete's respective sport.
