Pacific Staff Member and Student Lose Homes in Last Tuesday's Fire

On Tuesday, a fire in north Stockton destroyed 29 homes - nine houses and 20 apartments/condominiums. Among the residents of those dwellings were a Pacific student and a Pacific employee. Both lost everything. The University has offered temporary housing to both Pacific members. University officials also are attempting to learn if other members of the University community lost their homes in the fire.

On Wednesday, Pacific's Crisis Response Team and Community Service Committee met and discussed establishing a fund to collect monetary donations for any employee or student at Pacific who may have lost their homes in this devastating incident. This fund has been established through The Episcopal Church of St. Anne which graciously agreed to help Pacific with this endeavor.

Anyone who wishes to donate to this account should mail or hand-deliver a check to The Episcopal Church of St. Anne, c/o Pacific Fire Relief, 1020 W. Lincoln Road, Stockton, 95207. Checks should be made out to The Episcopal Church of St. Anne and should have "Pacific Fire Relief" written in the memo field.

All funds will be distributed to any Pacific employee or student who had their homes destroyed or heavily damaged in Tuesday's blaze. All donations are tax deductible to the extent permissible by law. Please note that all donations will be credited to the Episcopal Church of St. Anne for tax purposes.

If you have any questions, feel free to call Student Life at 209.946.2365. We appreciate your generosity and support for the Pacific Community.
