Students in Philanthropy

The Pacific Fund has created the Students in Philanthropy Program to:

  • create an understanding of the institutional role of University Advancement
  • educate our students about the University's rich history and traditions
  • develop a spirit of gratitude in students
  • send consistent messages on the importance of giving
  • continue the tradition of fundraising for a senior class gift
  • cultivate consistent giving to the Pacific Fund
  • The Students in Philanthropy Program consists of the following:

Students in Philanthropy Council-Students on the Council are each committed to promoting philanthropic giving to Pacific and other worthy causes.Council members are at various campus activities and events spreading the message about the importance of the Pacific Fund, participating as callers for our Thankathon program, and fundraising for the Senior Class Gift. The 2008-09 Council members are listed below.

Thankathon-This is a program where students call Pacific Fund donors to (1) thank them for their support of the Pacific Fund; (2) inform them about what's new on campus; and (3) build those connections between the campus and our donors.

Pacific Fund Philanthropy Award- This award recognizes a student organization, club, or council that demonstrates an outstanding commitment to charitable giving. It is presented at the Faith Davies Student Leadership Award ceremony on the Friday before Commencement.Recipients of the Pacific Fund Philanthropy Award receive a plaque and a $500 Pacific Fund grant to support their fundraising efforts.
