(October 23, 2008) -

Dr. Erin Webb completed the Doctor of Physical Therapy Programin early September of this year. Approximately one year ago she was selected, along with classmate Hilary Norman, DPT '08, to participate in a University of the Pacific and Rotary-sponsored trip ith faculty member Dr. Cathy Peterson to distribute Wheelchairs to people in need in Lima, Peru. While Dr. Webb's passion for service predates her experiences at Pacific, having been immersed into a culture and city where she gained the respect of the locals and made numerous friends and contacts as a visiting Physical Therapy student fostered her desire to return.

Dr. Webb returned to Lima on October 4th and was welcomed with open arms by the Rotary Club of San Borja. She is staying with local Rotarians and volunteering in the Central Military Hospital, where she was received by General Marco Figueroa and Colonel Cesar Montes.

Pacific Alumni Volunteers in PeruDuring her stay Dr. Webb has worked with injured veterans in the hospital, participated in Hippotherapy (using horses) with children, and delivered wheelchairs to injured veterans, including Lieutenant Augusto Moreno.

Dr. Webb is scheduled to return to California in early November and we are certainly looking forward to hearing all about her experiences! An article summarizing Dr. Webb's experiences will be posted after her return.
