The Department of Biology has a new building, completed in the summer of 2008.
This two-story building is approximately 56,000 square feet, containing a lower floor designed with state-of-the-art teaching facilities and an upper floor equipped with faculty research laboratories, experiential learning laboratories and specialty equipment rooms.

In addition to the building, the Biology Department is committed to acquiring cutting-edge equipment that facilitates research and hands-on training for students.
Our department is fully equipped with modern molecular and cellular biological equipment.

Some of the highlighted pieces of equipment housed within the Biology Department include:
- DNA microarray technology (spotter, automated hybridization chamber and scanner)
- Automated DNA sequencing apparatus
- Flow cytometer
- Real-time PCR machines
- Scanning electron microscope, fluorescent microscopes
