
Libation Ceremony to kick off Black History Month CelebrationFebruary 2, 2009What: Libation Ceremony to kick off Pacific's Black History Month Celebration Where: DeRosa University Center Description: University of the Pacific will kick off Black History Month with a Libation Ceremony that will be held in the DeRosa University Center. This ceremony is a long lived tradition that partakes in the pouring of a liquid to signify honor of a deity. This event is free to Pacific students and staff as well as the public. Pacific's Black History Month celebration is sponsored by the Pacific Alumni Association, ASuop, Black Campus Ministries, Black History Month Planning Committee, the Black Student Union, Bon Appetit, the Business & Finance Division, Celebrate Diversity, the College of the Pacific's Ethnic Studies department, Delta Sigma Theta sorority, the Division of Student Life, Multicultural Affairs, the Office of the Provost, the University Library and Progressive Community Church.
