To the Pacific Community:
It is with great pleasure that I announce the Board of Regents’ selection of Dr. Pamela Eibeck of Texas Tech University as the 24th President of University of the Pacific. I invite you to read today’s full announcement.
Dr. Eibeck has emerged as singularly qualified to lead Pacific into the 21st century. She has had a distinguished career as a researcher, teacher and educational reformer. As an administrator at Texas Tech, she has led her college to great recognitions and helped to bring more than $50 million in endowed gifts. Dr. Eibeck is truly a next-generation university leader.
Dr. Eibeck and her husband, Bill Jeffery, will visit the Stockton campus in late March for an official campus welcome press conference and reception. All will be welcome to attend, and details will be announced soon.
I would like to acknowledge the hard work, time, and dedication of the Presidential Search Committee, so ably led by Dianne Philibosian, and of Berit Gundersen and Nadine Pappas in the Office of the Provost, who provided staff support. I also wish to thank the many Pacific students, faculty, staff, alumni and community members who provided insightful and invaluable feedback throughout our search process.
Please join me in offering a warm and enthusiastic welcome to Pacific for Dr. Eibeck and her family.
Tom Zuckerman Chair, Board of Regents
