Background
Prior to joining Pacific, Ms. Denney had her own consulting practice, providing outsourced financial management and accounting services for community foundations and other not-for-profit and for-profit organizations. Also, she has held financial, technology, and administrative leadership positions in higher education, not-for-profit and for-profit finance and administration, and public accounting. Former positions include Director of Advancement Services at UC Davis; Vice President of Custom Business Development at State Net; Chief Financial Officer for Sacramento Children’s Home; Chief Financial Officer for amfAR, The Foundation for AIDS Research; Vice President of Finance at State Net; Senior Auditor at Price Waterhouse (now PricewaterhouseCoopers); and instructor with Becker CPA Review. In addition, during college, Ms. Denney worked for Chevron and the County of Sacramento performing accounting and internal audit work.
Key Areas of Responsibility
As the Assistant Vice President and Controller, Ms. Denney has the responsibility for internal and external financial reporting, tax reporting and compliance, business policies and procedures, payroll, purchasing, accounts payable, and post-award grants and contracts accounting.
