




Assistant/Associate Professor Position in School Psychology in the Gladys L. Benerd School of Education
The Department of Educational and School Psychology in the Gladys L. Benerd School of Education at the University of the Pacific invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in School Psychology at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, beginning August 2009. We recently received NASP approval for the Ed.S. program, and our goal is to obtain APA accreditation in the next few years.
Candidates are expected to teach, advise, and supervise students in the area of the candidate's expertise; assist students during their culminating Ed.S. degree activities, mentor Ph.D. candidates through their Qualifying Scholarly Activities, and direct doctoral dissertations in school psychology; develop a strong record of scholarship by having a clear research agenda and pursuing that agenda through empirical studies, presentations at professional meetings and refereed publications; obtain external funding to support research, training, and service activities in school psychology; provide service to the field and profession at local, state, or national levels; and participate in program, department, School, and University governance.
Candidates must have an earned doctorate in school psychology, preferably from an APA-accredited school psychology program. He/she will also have demonstrated his/her commitment to diversity and inclusive excellence. Preferences will be given to candidates with research interest and expertise in systems interventions, counseling services to children and adolescents, mental health consultation, diversity issues in school psychology and whose research interests complement the developmental and prevention orientation of the current faculty.
