Four SIS Students Nominated to Phi Beta Kappa
(May 4, 2009) -
Pacific has announced the names of the students invited to join the Phi Beta Kappa honor society, the most prestigious honor that can be awarded to an American undergraduate student. Founded in 1776, Phi Beta Kappa is the oldest academic honor society and the first to use a Greek-letter name. It recognizes high achievement in the liberal arts and sciences.
For the second year in a row, four of the students elected are School of International Studies (SIS) students! Seniors - Catherine Cloud, R. Joel Strauss, Nicholas Tyson, and Junior - Ashley Horne will join their former classmates as members of Phi Beta Kappa at the University-wide ceremony in May.
Congratulations to them and all of Pacific's Phi Beta Kappa nominees and members.
