Applying

The application process begins 1-1.5 years (2-3 semesters) prior to departure with students downloading the checklist for applying. This checklist will provide you with a timeline, and items to complete within that timeline, in order to properly apply for an education abroad program through Pacific.

Forms and documents referred to in all education abroad checklists can be found in the Forms section of our web site.

Preliminary Form (Course Approval Request)

Here are the requirements to keep in mind as you are selecting how many and which courses you plan on taking abroad:

  • You must enroll in the equivalent of at least 12 Pacific credits for each semester abroad. If your program's courses only list credits in the form of your host country (i.e. ECTS for some programs in Europe), list the foreign credit amount. The Education Abroad Advisor can let you know whether the foreign credits are equivalent to at least 12 Pacific credits.
  • Maximum course load is the equivalent of 18 Pacific credits. Otherwise, since you are enrolled at Pacific while you are abroad, course overload fees apply.
  • Pass/No Credit grading is NOT an option for courses taken abroad.
