Important Travel Checklist

Welcome!  We look forward to meeting you in January.

In addition to the Pre-Arrival Checklist included in the International Student Handbook and the Admission Checklist we included in your Welcome Packet, here are other things to consider before you arrive for International Student Orientation.

1. Make reservations at a hotel if you will be arriving in Stockton before Int'l Student Move-In Day on Wednesday, January 6.  If you have requested on-campus housing and have received confirmation from the Office of Housing and Greek Life,  IPS staff and student volunteers will be available starting on Wednesday, January 6 at 8:30 am to welcome you and deliver your housing keys.

Recommended Hotels:  Stockton Hilton Hotel, Courtyard by Marriott, Extended Stay by Marriott, Residence Inn, Lexington Plaza Waterfront Hotel

2. Make reservations with one of our recommended Airport Pick-Up Services, if you will need transportation to the University from San Francisco or Sacramento airport. All fees must be paid to the driver in cash upon arrival at the University. Please make sure to contact one of the following companies directly to confirm pick-up:

A Car & Taxi Service Stockton209-323-4723  or  209-329-4865  (From San Francisco: $145 per car, up to 5 people)  -- Ryan, the owner of this service is unavailable due to illness, however, he has contracted drivers (Mario and Mike) that have provided transportation for guests in the past.

Stockton Airporter1-800-988-1999  or 209-234-5700 (From San Francisco: $139 for individual pick-up or $79 per person for group pick-up)

* Upon receipt of Arrival Notification Forms, IPS staff will work with both services to recommend possible group pick-ups.  However, students are responsible for making reservations directly with the service provider.

Contact information for more transportation services can be found here.

3.  Complete the 2009-2010 Undergraduate Packet of health forms before your arrival for International Student Orientation.  You will need to submit these forms to the Wellness Center during the first week of school.  (Not required for exchange students)

4. Find other new Pacific students on Facebook or the ISA blog!  Join the "University of the Pacific Class of 2013" group on Facebook to meet other new 1st year or transfer students.  Also, feel free to post in the discussion board to find other new International Students.  Check the International Student Ambassadors (ISA) blog at isauop.blogspot.com to hear from current students about their experiences at Pacific.  These are great opportunities to make new friends even before you arrive to campus.
