President’s Advisory Council

The President's Advisory Council (PAC) shall advise the President on matters of importance to the University community; disseminate to and receive from the university community and other key constituents information regarding important developments, initiatives, or issues involving the University; and assist in developing and executing coordinated initiatives and responses.

Members of the PAC bring perspectives from their divisions or constituent groups in order to represent the best interests of the University. The PAC shall meet at least monthly at regularly scheduled times.

Agenda items may be submitted by any PAC member to the President's Executive Assistant for review by the President's Cabinet and final approval by the President.

The Council membership consists of:

16 ex-officio members: president (chair), provost, vice president for business and finance, vice president for student life, vice president for advancement, executive assistant to the president, athletics director, executive director of marketing and university communications, assistant provost for planning, innovation, and institutional assessment, associate provost/chief information officer, associate provost for research and graduate studies, associate provost for enrollment, dean of College of the Pacific, dean of students, Academic Council chair, Staff Advisory Council chair; and 4 other members with a one-year renewable term: a representative of the Sacramento campus (appointed by the President), a representative of the San Francisco campus (appointed by the President), one academic dean (nominated by the provost), and a representative of diversity organizations (nominated by the provost).

All members are appointed by the President.

Discussions of the PAC are confidential except for information that is disseminated publicly through written minutes. Members may not be represented by proxy. Students and other members of the Pacific community will be invited to attend part or all of PAC meetings as appropriate to scheduled agenda items.
