Sam Grobe-Heintz
Lecturer in Jazz Studies
Pianist Sam Grobe-Heintz has been living, performing and teaching in the San Francisco bay area for the past ten years. He appears in clubs weekly with a wide variety of bay area musicians, including acclaimed saxophonist Andrew Speight, drummer Vince Lateano, and bassist Michael Zisman. Over the past couple of years he has performed with a diverse group of musicians, including the Alexander String Quartet, singer Jamie Davis, and saxophonist Pete Yellin. Sam has been a teacher at the Stanford Jazz Workshop for the past two years, and also teaches piano at various schools in the bay area. He holds a B.A. in music from San Francisco State University.
