College of the Pacific

Margaret E. Ciccolella

Professor, Sport Sciences Department

I approach teaching with a belief that active rather than passive learning is most effective. Student participation is central to the learning process, and I weave lecture and discussion in covering course content. Laboratories and experiential opportunities allow students to connect theory and practice.

Students are encouraged to "work the material over," rather than the reverse. I urge students to think critically about the material they are learning, to enjoy the process, and to consider the future roles they may assume in a rapidly changing world—not just in adapting to inevitable change but in being the ones who make the change.
