Angry for the Right Reasons (CBL)
Aristotle once wrote that those who are angry at the right people, time, place, and degree exhibit virtue or excellence. Although science has generally focused on a rational explanation of human behavior, it is often the feeling side of our nature that influences our thoughts and actions.
This course will explore the intersection between intelligence and emotion, using the social emotional intelligence framework to understand effective human behavior.
This seminar is designed for students to research and evaluate the underlying models and measures of social and emotional intelligence (SEI). Students will explore the various paradigms, assess their own SEI, critique the different models, and create their own plan for SEI development.
"Angry for the Right Reasons" will expand primarily on the Pacific Seminar 1 seminar theme of education and self examination, as well as integrating the themes of private life and politics.
