Friends of Chamber Music Present The Brentano String Quartet Saturday

One of the world's most honored ensembles, the Brentano String Quartet, makes its anticipated debut November 7 on the Stockton Friends of Chamber Music series at University of the Pacific. In the second and only evening concert of the Friends' 2009-2010 season, the Brentano will appear at 7:30 p.m. Saturday in the Faye Spanos Concert Hall. Its well-traveled and critically-praised musicians are Mark Steinberg and Serena Canin; violin; Misha Amory, viola; and Nina Maria Lee, cello.

A few years after it organized in 1992, the Brentano won the first Cleveland Quartet Award and the cherished career-topping Naumburg Chamber Music Award, the highest in chamber music.  The Quartet has toured extensively, appearing all over the United States and Canada, and in Europe, Japan and Australia, performing in the world's most prestigious venues, including summer festivals in Aspen and Edinburgh.

Tickets are $25 general admission, and free for Conservatory faculty and Pacific students with ID.
